CardioVillage is a great place to get CEU's. They are listed under the menu LINKS subheading Educational. They have published what a CEU is and how this unit breaks down when you do oline education on their site. It is as follows:
Confused about CEU's? Wondering why you get "fewer" credits than you expected? Read on ... The CEU is an official unit given through the International Association of Continuing Education and Training. The measure used is 0.1 CEU for each 60-minute contact hour. So, if you are online for 10 contact hours, you earn 1.0 CEU. On CardioVillage, you earn credits by reading each page of an exercise. Every 5 pages = 0.25 contact hour. Therefore, when you have completed 20 pages, you earn 0.1 CEUs. However, this is the SAME as 1 contact hour of 60 minutes. Many professional organizations and licensing bodies use the term CEU but are not designating the official CEU unit described here. You should always check with the organization and ask if they mean 60 minutes of learning. Our certificates give both: the official CEU designation, AND the equivalent in 60-minute contact hours. When you earn CEUs, you really are earning as much credit as MDs are learning with CME category 1 credit - it is just reported differently.
